The Setting...
Thistle & Bloom is a family-run lavender farm in the rolling hills south of Portland. From mid-June through thw end of July, six acres of lavender bloom in waves of violet and silver. The rest of the year, the land carries a quieter beauty: open sky, oak shade, and the kind of stillness that's hard to find anywhere else this close to the city. We host a small number of private events each season because we want every gathering held here to feel singular. When you book Thistle & Bloom, you are not sharing the field with another party that day. The farm is yours.

Significant birthdays, anniversaries, retirement parties, baby showers, and family reunions. Bring your people, we'll bring the field.

Engagements, family portraits, brand shoots, senior photos. 1-2 hour sessions during peak bloom, by appointment.

A change of scenery for off-sites, leadership dinners, and creative planning days. Catering available

Private Picnics (for 2 or more)
Book a private picnic for more then 2 for you and up to 10 guests. Charcuterie and lavender lemonade, blankets and picnic basket all provides. This is the same format as our Saturday picnic events on the farm but for a more intimate setting. Pricing varies based off of number of guests.

How It Works

Step 1: Inquire
Tell us your date, guest count, and the kind of day you're imagining.
We will respond within 2 business days.

Step 2: Visit the farm
We host private walk-throughs by appointment, weekdays and select weekends. Bring your partner, your planner, anyone helping you make decisions.

Step 3: Reserve your date
A 50% deposit holds your date. Final balance is due 10 days before your event.

When does the lavender bloom?
Ideal bloom window is second week of June through the second week of July, each season will vary some depending on weaher conditions in Spring.

Can we bring our own caterer, florist, or photographer?
Yes. We have a list of preferred local vendors who know the farm well, but you're welcome to bring your own.

Is there indoor backup for rain?
No, but an event tent can be rented and setup at cost.

Do we allow alcohol?
Yes, with a licenses bartender and event insurance. We require both.

How far in advance should we book?
Peak-season Satrudays book 6-12 months ahead. We sometimes have last minute openings;just ask.
